It took exactly 14 years to return to the place I once called home. When I finally made it back, a sweeping wave of nostalgia resurfaced — memories, places and people I had carried within me for years, without fully realising it.

Sometimes we long for the lives we once had, only to return and discover that we no longer quite belong to them. People fade from our past. Others become part of the lives we build along the way. And somewhere in between, we become strangers to the person we once were, and to the places that once felt like home.

HANIN (حَنِين): longing, yearning, nostalgia (in Arabic)

— is the inaugural catalogue release of the LMFR series: a collective body of work largely based on deeply personal memories, places, people and fragments of the past that remain long after we return from a journey back home.

Twelve fragments of complex emotions, translated into a fusion of ambient, dub, deep techno and electronica.
